A validator is a participant of a Proof-of-stake blockchain network responsible for verifying and validating transaction blocks which will afterward be added to the permanent records of the blockchain, earning this way rewards. These rewards are received by the validators as long as they stake the network's token (EGLD for MultiversX) and correctly participate in transaction validations. This helps secure the network by requiring locking up value on the blockchain in order to be selected for validation decisions.
